About Mike Smith

Mike started playing 5-string banjo 27 years ago.  He won the Illinois State Banjo Competition in 1994 and 2006 playing a tune he wrote called Cody Blues (which was written for his son Cody). He has played with The River Ramblers Bluegrass Band for the past 19 years..

Mike has been building banjo bridges since 1990. He recently added a line of capos to the Kat Eyz product line.
